The Theatre Partnership “Do I Know U?”

Theater Schnawwl in Manheim and Ranga Shankara from Bangalore met and have been working together for the past three years. It all began with workshops on theatre pedagogy with Schnawwl performing guest shows in Bangalore. This was followed by two productions in each country with the help of artists form the other country: The Song of Rama, a version of the Indian epic Ramayana, was produced and performed in Mannheim and Robinson & Crusoe, a remake of the Schnawwl production was created for Indian children. The co-production of Boy with a Suitcase, performed by German and Indian artists, is the highlight of the partnership. The play will be shown in Mannheim in April, in Bangalore and Mysore in June and once more in India in 2012.
